(Wild asparagus)


Botanical info: 

Wild asparagus is a perennial thorny shrub, up to 70 cm tall, flowering in late summer early autumn after rain. It grows naturally in abandoned fields, phrygana, maquis, and it is native in the Mediterranean countries and naturalized in Poland.

        a. Wild asparagus as a food is dry and stationary.  


Other uses: 

Wild asparagus is diuretic and laxative; and for those of sedentary habits who suffer from symptoms of gravel, it has been found very beneficial, as well as in cases of dropsy. The fresh expressed juice is taken medicinally in tablespoonful doses.
